I was asked about why I don’t want EDM on this page. So here’s some info of what this page is about and why I post the stuff that revolves around the dance culture and house culture (I’ve edited this as well).
No beef with EDM like I said I have no hate for that type of music. I’ll dance to that stuff if I’m in that area. I'm not going to lie; it's fun dancing to that stuff when I'm with a group of people who's into that stuff. In this case, deep house (well particularly for this page) focuses more on the roots and culture of house music from the past to the present.
EDM is a different culture, mainly based off of electronic house, trance, and techno. EDM is dominated in the clubs and all the widely known festivals thrown around the world. Most people will say EDM is house music because it is.
Like Hip Hop, it's hated because it's not what it used to be. But it's still Hip Hop.
That's another story…We can’t live in the past because House and Hip Hop will keep progressing. And we'll always look back at the past and share it to the new generation. Like fashion and technology. We love bringing stuff back. This is why I made this page because I want others to learn about a different side of House. If you're someone who makes music, maybe stuff in the past will inspire your sets or music that you produce. If you're a dancer, history and our current generation of dancers will inspire you and you'll find music on here that are commonly used at competitions or a cypher lounge that plays deep house.
Again, Hip Hop and House will always have an area where it preserves the culture, which is what I'm sharing through this blog.
Anyways, you will most likely not hear a Drake song playing at a b-boy competition and you'll probably never hear a David Guetta, Calvin Harris, or a Kaskade track at a house competition. Rather you'll hear music that's most influential to the dance. In house dancing, the obvious choice of music would be deep house. But deep house doesn't have to be purely for house competitions, they are played at places for people to dance to whether they are a dancer or not. It's all music but this page focuses more on the music revolving around the dance culture. Since I keep mentioning deep house as a preferred song choice, it also branches out to soulful house, afro house, hip house, tribal house, acid house, and all those house classics.
Stereotypically speaking, EDM revolves around shuffling, glow sticks, fist pumps, women in bikini, and entertainment. Do you know how many videos I've came across when looking for house dance or music videos on youtube with a women's goods on the cover? Yeah they are hot, sexy, or whatever. I’m not gay by the way. But is music suppose to be about sexy ass women?! Shaking their goods? Getting naked? Degrading? You tell me.
I’m no expert or a master, As an artist and a dancer, these are my views, but they will always change when I learn something new or when I'm informed with great information. I’m just sharing what I know from experience and from learning from others.
This will probably be the last text blog. Now on with more music and dance and less talking.

I have no hate for EDM, but please no EDM content. Dance music is dance music period. However, let’s keep the content the way it is on this site. Please review the content of this blog before submitting. If I don’t post your submission, then you know why.
UPDATE: To make this clear. Deep House Collective revolves around the culture of house dance and the history of house music. This also includes contemporary artists who lean more toward this culture. Does that make sense? House music is a part of EDM, but the culture that is provided here focuses on the roots of house music and house dancing. Just compare the two EDM and deep house music, both contain the elements of house but sound very different. I’m no expert in theory, but you can hear the difference and you can see the difference between the two cultures.

I remember seeing Orb for the first time on my Red Bull's Lords of the Floor (2003) VHS tape. Damn! That was 10 years ago! Orb and Free inspired my way of dancing. This page wouldn't exist without these guys. House, B-boying, and a bit of this and that as a whole. It's just dance as a whole. If you're someone who does more than one thing, then that's how you call yourself a dancer.
